Observe the area around and under your vehicle as you approach
Look in the back seat before you enter
Lock the door as soon as you enter
Make sure you can acquire your pistol if you need to do so
Check your mirrors and look around for someone approaching
Start your vehicle and put It in gear holding it in place with the foot brake
Adjust mirrors, heater etc.
If you must look at your phone keep it up at eye level and keep scanning area
Before you hit the street attach your seat belt
Again check access to your pistol
If you think you are being followed, make four right turns to verify
If you being followed drive to the nearest police station
In a parking lot pull though to allow easy exit
At home, back into driveway or garage if possible
This will allow you to see people approaching your vehicle as you park
People approaching from the front are much easier to repel
